A Little More About Our Staff....
Student Services Director: Dr. Donna Bisel Hughes
Dr. Hughes has been an educator for 26 years. She has been a teacher, building principal at all grade levels, and for the past 10 years she has been Assistant Superintendent of Schools in Kansas. Her educational background includes strengths in curriculum, instruction and staff development. She received a doctorate degree in Educational Policy and Leadership from the University of Kansas.
Preschool Teacher: Mrs. Kim McGinness
Mrs. Kim McGinness is certified by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in early childhood education. A graduate of Platte County R-3 Schools, Mrs. McGinness is excited to teach in Platte County after teaching for twelve years in the Park Hill School District. Mrs. McGinness earned a bachelor’s degree from Missouri Western State University in 1996 and a master’s degree in teaching from Webster University in 1998.
Early Childhood Teacher: Ms. Christina Pfaff
Ms. Pfaff is certified by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in early childhood education. Originally from Leonardville, Kansas, Mrs. Milne has six years teaching experience. Mrs. Milne earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Kansas State University; she is currently working on an additional master’s degree in visual impairments, orientation and mobility from Missouri State University.
Early Childhood Teacher: Mrs. Mary Prell
Mrs. Prell is certified by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in early childhood education. Of the 37 years Mrs. Prell has been an educator, this will be her 24th year in the Platte County R-3 School District. Mrs. Prell earned a bachelor's degree at University of Nebraska and master's degree from UMKC.
