Youth Friends
The high school is currently looking for Youth Friends to volunteer with students for an hour a week anytime from 7:40 AM to 5:00 PM. Please contact Rachel Gabriel, School Social Worker, at 816-858-2822 Ext. 1258.

Platte County R-3 High School is the sole high school of the 105-square mile Platte County R-3 School District serving students in both Platte and Clay counties. Our district surrounds KCI Airport, north of Kansas City, Missouri.The Pirates are known state-wide in the classroom and on the playing field. Platte County R-3 students annually score above state and national averages on the ACT, and approximately 80% of the graduates go on to post-secondary education and/or training. We are proud to be an A+ Designated High School and a part of a school district that has been accredited with "Distinction" by the Missouri Department of Education. We offer a wide variety of academic opportunities for our students such as Challenge (Honors) Courses, AP (Advanced Placement) Courses, and Dual Credit College Courses.Our students are involved in an abundance of activities in academics, athletics, and the fine arts. as well as many clubs and organizations that help foster teamwork, integrity, and citizenship.We are proud to be The Pirates, and our sports teams consistently compete at the conference, district and state level with Wrestling, Football, and Baseball all bringing home state championships.
