I would like to welcome you to Paxton Elementary School in the Platte County R3 School District. This is my fifth year educating students in the Platte County R3 School District. Prior to becoming a Pirate, I spent 6 years teaching in the Liberty Public School system. I received my undergraduate degree in education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In 2001, I received my Master's degree in Elementary Leadership from Northwest Missouri State University. I am currently receiving my Educational Doctorate from Saint Louis University and will graduate in December of 2009.

Our Mission is to to build a community of learners where all students will learn, one student at a time with no excuses. Because we only have your child for two years, we want to build a rapport with your child, so they are excited about coming to school each and every day. With your support, we feel like we will be able to build a strong community of learners.

Communication and parent involvement are very important to us. Our teachers send out newsletters that will keep you informed of the instructional programs and activities in which your child is engaged. You can also sign up for my weekly email called the "Paxton Notes," which is an update of current happenings at Paxton School. Simply send me and email and I will add you to my distribution list. You can also keep updated on current events by checking the district calendar.

I encourage you to join our PTA which meets monthly at Siegrist Elementary. The PTA provides wonderful learning opportunities as well as fun activities for our students. These events include cultural arts programs, book fairs, and skating parties.
