Fifth Grade Activities

Paxton Singers

Paxton Singers is an auditioned elementary choir consisting of fourth and fifth graders. The ensemble meets for an hour and fifteen minutes once a week. The group was founded by Jennifer Stammers in 2003 and auditioned just over forty students that first year. The following year, approximately one-third of the Paxton student body auditioned - this statistic has continued in the years since. Paxton Singers has become a fixture at the annual Christmas lighting ceremony in Platte City, and performs in the spring for the Nooon Recital Series at Benedictine College.

Congratulations to Mrs. Stammers and the
2008-09 Paxton Singers!

Paxton Student Council

The Paxton Student Council is composed of members from the fourth and fifth grade classes at the Paxton School. Each quarter, the members are selected to represent their peers. The selection of these positive role models is based upon the components of the Pirates R.O.C.K. character education program. These students have shown qualities such as responsibility, pride, self-control, and respect, just to name a few. Each quarter the Paxton Student Council meets to create a project to promote thoughtfulness for others.
