PCHS FBLA Wins Big at State Conference

Members of PCHS's FBLA traveled to Springfield, MO for the Missouri Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference at the beginning of April. The conference featured dynamic workshops, innovative keynotes, and professional networking opportunities with Fortune 500 companies for middle school through college students.

Nearly 4,600 students and advisers came together for the event, with over 150 business education related contests running during the event; contest topics range from accounting to website design, marketing to mobile application development.
 
Overall, Platte County High School brought home many awards, including:
  • “Gold” Chapter of the Year, The Gold Seal Award of Merit, and Membership Achievement Award
  • Business Achievement Award “Future” Level: Lauryn Masters & Jackson Todd
  • Community Service Award “Community” & “Service” Level: Lauryn Masters
  • 1st Place Management Information Systems: Drake Hansen, Malachi Ray, Christian Torchia
  • 1st Place Partnership with a Business Project: Brittany Alvarado, Lauryn Masters, Jackson Todd
  • 1st Place Public Service Announcement: Wes Valentine, Will Valentine, Ethan Ventress
  • 2nd Place Business Financial Plan: Megan Hessemyer, Ashlyn Koontz, Madison Powers
  • 2nd Place Journalism: Lauryn Masters
  • 2nd Place Who's Who: Hannah Wood
  • 3rd Place Digital Video Production: Luke Hodson, Wes Valentine, Will Valentine
  • 4th Place American Enterprise Project: Kevin Burns, Colby Mattys, Hannah Wood
  • 4th Place Business Plan: Drake Hansen, Luke Hodson, Ethan Ventress

In addition, Platte County FBLA would like to congratulate Susan Baker, Executive Vice-President/Director of Marketing at Platte Valley Bank, for receiving the Missouri FBLA Business Person of the Year Award. Platte County FBLA has partnered with Platte Valley Bank for the past three years through a variety of service projects and appreciates the support provided from local businesses and citizens.
