How is Platte County R-3 helping to protect staff health?
To keep our staff safe, we provided safety training videos through SafeSchools. Employees must complete the SafeSchools videos before reporting to work. The training videos outline safety measures, which include the use of masks and gloves, hand washing and social distancing practices.
We are requesting staff wear a mask when social distancing is not possible. We encourage staff to bring their own masks, but we will provide a mask for those who don't have one.
Staff prox cards will be restricted until staff complete both SafeSchools training videos related to COVID-19.
When do employees return to work?
12 month staff will return to work July 1st. Staff may be asked to work on a rotational basis to limit the number of people in the buildings.
What if staff can't return to work?
Beginning on July 1, employees that are unable to return to work may use ALDs or vacation leave for the absence. Federal paid sick leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) may be available in some circumstances. Employees should contact Human Resources regarding the availability of any FFCRA leave and to fill out a FFCRA Leave Request Form. Employees must provide notification from a physician if they are unable to report to their physical work location on July 1. A larger version of the FFCRA Leave process chart can be found here.
How do staff members request accommodations due to health concerns?
Please fill out a Work Accommodations Request form. All requests will be reviewed by Human Resources.
How will health insurance work for COVID-19?
For all employees currently enrolled in medical insurance with the district, Aetna has implemented the following measures. The COVID-19 diagnostic test will be covered consistent with CDC guidance related to COVID-19 with no cost share to the employee. Please be sure to visit the Aetna's member portal for the most up to date information.
Free mental health counseling using telemedicine. We are offering a $0 copay* for outpatient mental health visits until September 30, 2020.
Taking care of your emotional health right now is more important than ever, so don't hesitate to get the support you need. Costs will be waived for telemedicine counseling visits through:
- In-network providers who deliver virtual care, such as over-the-phone care and live videoconferencing
- Teladoc options through the Aetna Health app
- Other virtual care apps or services that are part of your plan

To help you during the COVID-19 pandemic, we've opened crisis response lines for all members. Just call 1-833-327-2386. All Aetna and CVS Caremark members also have access to the Aetna nurse medical line at 1-800-556-1555.
Free coronavirus testing and doctor visits. You'll have $0 copays for any diagnostic testing and doctor visits related to COVID-19.
If you meet the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidleins for testing, and it's requested by your doctor, we'll waive the cost for testing.
No cost sharing for impatient admissions to help treat COVID-19 or related health complications.
We're waiving copays and cost sharing for members through September 30, 2020, for all of our insured commercial plans.
Free delivery on CVS Pharamcy prescriptions.
Limit your exposure to the virus, or avoid passing it around by having your medications (excluding over the counter medications) delivered to your home. You'll have the option of one to two day delivery when your prescription is ready between March 9, 2020 - August 31, 2020. Plus, we're waiving early reflill limits throught September 30, 2020 on most prespcription maintenance medications through CVS Caremark.
