Assessment
Smarter Balanced AssessmentThe SBAC Digital Library is a collection of professional learning resources and instructional resources to help educators tailor their Missouri Learning Standards instruction to students’ needs using formative assessment processes. Kindergarten through 2nd grade teachers - please note- the Digital library is intended to support grades 3 - 8, however this resource can and should be utilized by all K-8 teachers to ensure vertical alignment. Educators will be able to use these resources throughout the school year to:· Identify any misconceptions they might have regarding formative assessment
· Increase their use of formative assessment tools
· Better understand where students are in their learning
· Make quick adjustments to instruction
What is the difference between the Instructional and Professional Resources?
An Instructional Resource is a file in the Digital Library that allows educators to focus their instruction on the MLS using formative assessment practices that help educators develop practices that support more in-depth learning. A Professional Learning Resource is a file that helps educators deepen their understanding of the MLS, the formative assessment process, and a balanced assessment system. Some resources in the Digital Library serve both purposes and are labeled Combination of Instructional and Professional Learning Resource.Smarter Balanced Digital Library Linkhttp://www.smarterbalanced.org/educators/the-digital-library/
