Mrs. Ashleigh Schlorholtz

I am so happy to be a part of the Platte County High School family.  I have a love of education and show that throughout my teaching.  I first received my Bachelors of Business Administration from from University of Missouri - Kansas CIty.  After I graduated, I went in to the workforce doing sales and evenutally landing in Human Resources.  I worked in Human Resources for 5 years.  During that time I decided to go back to school to get my Masters of Business Administration from Baker University.  While working on my MBA that I realized I loved getting up in front of a class and teaching.  Once I graduated I thought I would try teaching for fun, and got a part-time job at a local Career College teaching business in the evenings.  After a month of teaching evenings at the college they asked me to come on full-time.  I accepted the position and worked my way up to being the Head of the Business department.  I worked at the Career College for 4 years, and while there I worked with so many students that hadn't found their passion(s) while in High School.  I wanted to rewind time with them and travel back in time to help guide them and show them opportunities that might interest them before they graduated High School.  It was during this time in my career I made the decision  that I wanted to teach high schoolers.  I went back to school and recieved my teaching certification and Masters of Teaching from the University of Central Missouri.  I started working at a private school in the Kansas City northland area, teaching Business and Technology, and worked there for three years.  I am happy to say that in 2017 I made the decision to come to Platte County High School to teach Business and Technology and become a pirate!
