Mrs. Katie Moretina
Welcome to 3rd Grade! I am excited to have you in our class!
My alma mater is Platte County High School! I attended PCR-3 School District from Kindergarten -12th grade! I have been teaching in the Platte County School District since 2000, making this my 19th year! I began my teaching career in 5th grade for 11 years, 4th grade for 1 year, and this is my seventh year in 3rd grade. I received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University), my Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Baker University, and I am currently working on my 3rd degree - Master's of Education in Technology through Park University. As you can see, I am constantly striving to learn new things every day!
I am married to my husband, Tony, and we have 5 amazing daughters; Brooke (22), Brittanie (19), Audrie (16), Mackenzie (13), and Kinlie (6). We love spending time with our family...whether it is at home having game night, watching our favorite family shows together, at a sporting event, or eating at one of our favorite restaurants. We also spend A LOT of time on the softball field watching our girls play college ball, high school ball, competitive ball, and t-ball. I am a huge Kansas City Royals fan, Kansas City Chiefs fan, and a Kansas Jayhawks fan!
I have high expectations for all students and believe all students can learn! And, with a great partnership between you and me, your child will be very successful and grow as a 3rd grader! I have an open-door policy, so please don't ever hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I am looking forward to another fun and great year!
