Welcome to my social studies class!  I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself and express my excitement about working with your student.  I am a 'career changer'; meaning after many years working in the computer network / telecom business (including 5 yrs. living in Paris, France), I elected to pursue a new career as a teacher. I am passionate about teaching history (social studies), and leverage my experience traveling around the world as a means to bring history to life for your student.

I have been teaching at PCMS since 2007.  Prior to that I taught history at Stuart High School in Fairfax, Virginia. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach your student this year.  I believe students can grow and develop by examining the issues we discuss in class.  My basic philosophy is based on what Pearl S. Buck said "If you want to understand today, you have to search yesterday."

My webpage provides information about policies in my classroom via the 6th grade and 8th grade Syllabus, Google Classroom for all assignment information, as well as access to textbook and other online resource information.  Just check out the menu on the left-side.  I hope these tools will help you and your student.  Thank you again for opportunity to teach your student.  I am looking forward to this year.
