NCC Welcomes Governor/Celebrates Workforce Development

On October 19, Northland Career Center welcomed 100+ guests including Governor Mike Parson for its Celebration of Workforce Education. Governor Parson was greeted by a team of skilled trades students in the NCC's Diesel Technology shop before joining local legislators, business and sending school district leaders, and student representatives for the Workforce Celebration in NCC's Culinary Arts room. Dr. Jay Harris opened the conversation by thanking the Governor and legislators for their efforts to provide a $30M award to Northland Career Center. Brian Noller also spoke and shared the vision of the Northland Workforce Education Center through an updated video. New NCC Director, Jeff Green shared his career and technical education story and introduced Governor Parson, who charged NCC and PCR-3 leaders as well as Northland stakeholders to "get to work" to raise the matching $30M in funds. Governor Parson reiterated his administration's focus on workforce development. "We are proud of the work NCC instructors and administrators are doing to give their students every advantage."
