PCR-3 Earns Top 6% APR Ranking Statewide, Celebrates Growth in Student Achievement and Readiness
The Platte County R-3 School District (PCR-3) has demonstrated strong performance and growth, earning a 92.5% score on the 2025 Missouri Annual Performance Report (APR), a jump from 80.5% last year. Out of 553 Missouri school districts, PCR-3 ranks 34th in the state and 2nd in the Kansas City Metro area.
The Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP 6) Annual Performance Report measures how well school districts are helping students succeed academically and preparing them for college, careers, and life after graduation. The APR includes both Performance metrics, which assess student outcomes and academic achievement, and Continuous Improvement standards, which measure district systems and progress over time. PCR-3 earned 185 out of 200 possible points this year, with particularly strong results in academic achievement, growth, and college and career readiness indicators:
- Performance: 127 out of 140 points (90.7%)
- Continuous Improvement: 58 out of 60 points (96.6%)
- Academic Achievement Status, which measures performance at a given point in time, saw gains, with content areas maintaining or improving to “target” status, including ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies for all students. This reflects strong, consistent academic performance across grade levels.
- Academic Achievement Growth showed notable improvement across all content areas, with math and science growth moving from “emerging” or “approaching” in 2024 to “target” status in 2025, indicating that students are making strong progress over time.
- The District also maintained 99.9-100% participation rates across all tested subjects.
These results reflect the collective efforts of extraordinary educators and students, united by the District’s mission to ensure learners thrive in an ever-changing world with confidence and resilience.
“This growth is a direct reflection of our educators’ commitment to meaningful learning experiences and to supporting each student’s intellectual growth and life-readiness,” said Superintendent Dr. Jay Harris. “We’re proud of this progress, but we also recognize there is still work to do as we continue to refine our practices and provide every learner the opportunity to succeed.”
