Platte County Archers Hit the Mark at State Tournament, Advance to Nationals

Platte County School District archers delivered standout performances at the 2025 Missouri National Archery in the Schools Program (MoNASP) State Championship in Branson, Missouri. Representing six different schools across the District, student-athletes showcased their focus, skill, and determination, bringing home top finishes, personal bests, and team achievements.

Next up, archers from Platte County High School (PCHS), Platte City Middle School (PCMS), Platte Purchase Middle School (PPMS), Siegrist Elementary, and Compass Elementary have earned the opportunity to compete at the 2025 NASP Western National Tournament in Sandy, Utah, April 25-26, 2025.

Here’s a recap of the District’s results from State:

  • Pathfinder Elementary: Competing with a small but mighty team of 14, Pathfinder shot their highest team score of the season (2725), landed 58 tens, and finished 16th in the state. Five archers achieved personal bests.
  • Siegrist Elementary: Siegrist brought home a 2nd place team trophy in 3D (out of 13 elementary teams) and placed 4th in Bullseye (out of 22 teams), missing 3rd place by only 11 points. Standout archer Kendall Webb earned 1st place in both the elementary girls 3D and Bullseye divisions.
  • Compass Elementary: Compass archers placed 5th in 3D, improving their season score by 33 points and finishing just four points away from a podium finish. In Bullseye, the team placed 14th out of 22 teams. Several Compass archers hit personal bests in both categories.
  • Platte City Middle School: PCMS earned 8th place in 3D out of 44 teams—just 18 points shy of a new school record—and placed 15th in Bullseye. Multiple archers achieved personal best scores.
  • Platte Purchase Middle School: PPMS archers reached new heights, with eight team members achieving season-best scores across both Bullseye and 3D competitions. The team celebrated strong growth and consistency throughout the season.
  • Platte County High School: PCHS turned in an impressive performance. Jake Sloan set a new school record and personal best in Bullseye with a score of 296, tying for 1st and earning a $2,000 scholarship. He also placed 7th in 3D. Reece Moppin and Macie Garland each secured top 10 individual finishes with personal bests. The team placed 5th in both Bullseye and 3D out of more than 40 teams.
