With a special staff parade in front of PCHS and NCC, PCR-3 announced in early May that Ashlyn Brantley is this year's PCR-3 Teacher of the Year and Lance Cantu is this year's Service Person of the Year! Congrats!
Forty-four members of PCHS FBLA participated in the 2020 Missouri FBLA-PBL Virtual State Leadership Conference in May. 2020 marked the first year the conference was not held in person. Overall, Platte County High School brought home many awards, including “Gold” Chapter of the Year, and State Champions in three events.
Each April, the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce celebrates Excellence in Education with a banquet honoring outstanding students, teachers, staff, volunteers, and business supporters of Northland education. While we'll not be able to gather ~1,000 attendees from eight school districts in Kansas City’s Northland, we'll be celebrating virtually with a recorded version of the event on May 12. The PCHS Wind Ensemble performed at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, as part of the Kansas City Classic Band and Orchestra Festival. The centerpiece of the program was a contemporary work by Grammy-nominated Alex Shapiro, who Dr. Jay Jones worked with to create a special organ part for their Kauffman Center performance.
