Our local VFW post, awarded not one, but two PCMS students with the Patriot's Pen award. Congratulations to Jessica Fernandez and Lauren Talley on their winning essays written to this year's theme: "Why do you Honor the Flag." Out of more than 150 essays written in this region, they were the top two students chosen. Their essays will now be voted on at the state level, where they'll be eligible for a scholarship and advancement to the national competition.
In addition, the VFW surprised Dr. Chris Miller, PCMS Principal, with a VFW Americanism Award in recognition of the past 13 years of dedication to our veterans! Way to go PCMS!
