PCHS Football Players Earn High Honors

This year, PCHS Football had two nominees up for Thomas A. Simone Awards, honoring metro Kansas City's top high school football players since 1983. The awards are selected by a vote of high school football coaches and select media members. Dylan Gilbert was a finalist for the Otis Taylor Award (outstanding tight end/wide receiver), and Spencer Stewart was a finalist and winner of the Frank Fontana Award (outstanding small class high school football player). Spencer joins past PCHS Frank Fontana winners, Brandon Gutshall, Zach Sherman, and Krae Kelso, and past PCHS Bobby Bell winners (outstanding small class defensive player) Brian Koechner and Michael Smith.

PCHS Football's Peyton Stoner was also one of three finalists for the Derrick Thomas/Neil Smith 3rd and Long Foundation Service Award, which honors athletes for their off-the-field service.
