This year's VEX Robotics competition is the "Tower Takeover" and all of our teams from PCHS, PCMS, and Barry School have had outstanding seasons! At the State tournament held in late February, Team 8778W from PCMS won the state middle school championship, and four of our teams qualified for the World Championship, held in Louisville, KY, in late April! Congratulations to these students and their sponsors and best of luck at Worlds! Results from the State tournament:
PCHS’s Team 9065C placed 3rd in Skills, made it to finals and placed 2nd, brought home the “Finalist” and “Sportsmanship” Awards, and qualified for Worlds.
PCHS’s Team 9065P placed 2nd in Skills, made it to semi-finals, only to lose to their peer team Team 9065C, and qualified for Worlds.
PCMS’s Team 8778W placed 3rd in Skills, brought home the “Build” Award (for build quality and reliability), was the State tournament champion, and qualified for Worlds.
PCMS’s Team 8778Z placed 1st in Skills, made it to the finals, brought home the “Design” Award (best overall design and engineering process), and qualified for Worlds.
PCMS’s Team 8778X made it to the finals, and brought home the “Amaze” Award (most reliable and consistently high scoring robot).
PCMS’s Team 8778Y placed 4th in Skills and made it to the semi-finals.
Barry’s Team 78877A made it to quarter finals and brought home the "Think" Award (for excellent problem solving and design implementation).
