PCHS FBLA Sends 15 to Nationals

Forty-four members of PCHS FBLA recently competed at the State Leadership Conference and brought home numerous awards, including the Gold Seal of Merit award, Gold Chapter of the Year award, Outstanding Service award to Mason Salehi, and 10 State Champions! A total of 15 PCHS FBLA members qualified to compete at the National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Florida, in late June.

2024-25 New Administrators

Brian Noller will assume a new role as Executive Director of Business Services, Emily Brown will join PCR-3 as the new Director of Special Services and Early Learning, and Dr. Hawar Khalandi will join Platte County School District as the Director of College and Career Readiness starting in the 2024-25 school year.

April 2024 Unofficial Election Results

Platte County R-3 School District’s No Tax Rate Increase Prop C Waiver and Levy Transfer question passed receiving 59% of our voters’ support. This restructuring of the tax rate will allow the District to allocate resources to better attract and retain quality staff and enhance safety and security with zero change to the total tax rate.

Kindergarten Enrollment

Children who have turned five years of age before August 1, 2024, are eligible for kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year. Families are encouraged to view the Attendance area boundary map linked here, or call the District office at 816-858-5420 for confirmation of attendance area.

PCHS FBLA Raises $1,250 to Support Homeless Families in the Community

PCHS FBLA partnered with Hillcrest-Platte County (Community Service), The Edlin Team (Partnership with a Business), and Nodaway Valley Bank (American Enterprise). The goal is to work together, raising funds for Hillcrest Platte County and their network of support services by helping assist with the transitional housing for homeless families in the community.

PCR-3 Inducts Three to Hall of Fame; Celebrates Six Student Signees

In combination with Platte County High School’s “Winter Athletic/Activities Signing Ceremony” on January 23, the Platte County School District inducted three members to its Pirate Hall of Fame: Molley (Scanlon) Burns, Gena Puckett, and Barrett Martens.

Northland Career Center Receives $30M State-Appropriated Matching Grant for New Facility

Over the course of the past four years, Northland Career Center (NCC) in partnership with PCR-3, has been developing a vision and plan to create a new, state-of-the-art, career center at a centralized location for its Northland consortium. Leaders have engaged various strategic partners to develop and market a future building concept. This concept became a more concrete idea in April 2021, after a presentation to the Missouri House Subcommittee on Federal Stimulus Funds. In May of 2022, the Missouri State Legislature invested in this workforce initiative by appropriating $30M of its FY 2023 budget to support NCC’s cause to build and grow a Northland workforce in Clay and Platte Counties.
