Notice To File As Candidate For Election
Persons wishing to file as candidates for election to the Board of Education of the Platte County R-3 School District must file (in accordance with Board Policy BBB - click here) at the District Education Center located at 998 Platte Falls Road, Platte City, Missouri, 64079.
Two Board members will be elected at the General Municipal Election on April 2, 2024. There are two, 3-year terms to be elected. Elected board members must complete the eighteen and one-half (18.5) hours of board member training within the first year as mandated by the Revised Statutes of the State of Missouri and one (1) hour of refresher training each year of any term in office. Ballot order will be determined by the order of candidate filing with the exception of filing on the first day, Tuesday, December 5, 2023, where ballot placement will be determined by random drawing. Candidate filing opens at 8:00 am on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 and will continue until its conclusion on December 26, 2023 at 5:00 pm.
Dates, times, and instructions for scheduling appointments for filing are as follows:
- December 5, 2023, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- December 6-8, 2023, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- December 11-15, 2023, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- December 18-21, 2023, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- December 22, 2023, By Appointment Only
- December 26, 2023, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm

- Filing will not occur on days that the District Education Center is closed due to inclement weather. Filing will also not occur on the following days: Friday, December 22, 2023 and Monday, December 25, 2023.

Please note, a person wishing to file as a board candidate MUST have these documents processed by the Board Secretary, Danielle Nickell, prior to 5:00 pm on December 26, 2023 before candidacy is official. You may print and complete the documents prior to filing, however, do not sign them prior to your official filing meeting with Mrs. Nickell.
