Summer School 2024 LogoThe Platte County R-3 School District is excited to announce that Summer School will be held May 31-June 28, 2024. All Platte County R-3 students are invited to attend and continue to grow as learners throughout the summer!

The purpose of PCR-3’s Summer School Program is to provide an experience that is relevant, rigorous, and engaging, based on individual learner needs, in a safe and caring environment. 

What are the dates for summer school?

  • Summer School will be held May 31-June 28, 2024. There will be no summer school on June 19.

What are the hours for summer school?

  • 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

What grade is my child considered for summer school?

  • The grade they will be entering into for the 2024-25 school year (i.e. 3rd grader in 2023-24 school year will be enrolled as a 4th grader for summer school).

Is there a cost for attending summer school?

  • No, there is no cost to attend summer school.

Where are the summer school sites located?

  • Barry Elementary Location: Pathfinder Elementary and Barry Elementary Kindergarten – 5th grade students will attend summer school at Barry Elementary
  • Siegrist Elementary Location: Compass Elementary and Siegrist Elementary Kindergarten – 5th grade students will attend summer school at Siegrist Elementary
  • Platte County High School Location:
    • Platte City Middle School and Platte Purchase Middle School 6th grade – 8th grade students will attend summer school at Platte County High School

Are meals provided during summer school?

  • The District will provide a cold breakfast and healthy snack option for students each day.

Is transportation provided?

  • Yes, transportation is provided on an abbreviated bus stop plan. See routes and schedules linked below.

Is Y Club available during summer school?

  • Yes, Y Club is available for students attending summer school in grades Kindergarten - 5th grade while summer school is in session. Y Club will be held at Compass Elementary and Pathfinder Elementary. Students are not automatically enrolled in Y Club by selecting Y Club on your summer school enrollment. Registration for summer Y Club programs (day camps and before and after summer school care) can be completed here: Please note, Y Club will not be available on June 19.

How do I enroll my child for summer school?

  • For current Kindergarten to 7th Grade students (next year's 1st through 8th grade students), enrollment will be via an e-Collect form via Parent Portal, available in late March.
  • Incoming Kindergarten students will be able to complete summer school registration after completing their regular school year enrollment. Information will also be shared during Kindergarten Kickoffs on April 22.
  • High school students enrolling in summer school should complete PCHS's enrollment forms via Parent Portal, which will be available in April.

Who do I contact in the event I have more questions about summer school? 

 The administrators below will act as the primary administrators until June 22. From June 24 to 28, the Administrative Interns will assume the lead administrator role.
